One company owns another. The holding company is the owner on record of the operating company; you are the owner of the holding company. Both entities are real, and both carry their own obligations.

A Puerto Rico business address and mail handling, billed monthly and cancellable under the applicable Terms. A virtual office does not by itself satisfy licensing, tax, banking, zoning, residency or nexus requirements.

Why is the government fee not included in the $1,000?
Because it is not ours to include. State filing fees range from $35 to over $500, and they change. Folding them into one price would mean overcharging most clients to cover the expensive states. You see your state's actual fee before you pay.
How long does the EIN take?
That depends on the IRS, not on Atlas. If the responsible party has a Social Security number or ITIN and the business is in the United States or a U.S. territory, the application goes through the IRS online service and the number is issued quickly. Without an SSN or ITIN it becomes a paper Form SS-4 by fax or mail, which takes materially longer. We prepare and submit either way and tell you which route yours took.
Does the Wyoming holding company make my ownership private?
It makes the holding company the owner shown on the operating company's public record. It does not make you anonymous. Banks, tax authorities, regulators, courts and Registered Agents may still require ownership information, and federal and state reporting obligations apply regardless of structure.
Do my Annual Report fees come out of what I already paid?
No. Your package includes Atlas's reminder and monitoring service, not the government's Annual Report fee. That fee is due each year to the jurisdiction, and your portal shows the amount and the date.
Who is actually my Registered Agent?
In Puerto Rico, Atlas is your resident agent directly. Everywhere else it depends on an address in that state, so Atlas arranges the service through a national registered agent partner with offices in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Either way you deal with Atlas, and your portal shows which agent is on record for your company.
Is Atlas a law firm?
No. Atlas Business Filings LLC is a Registered Agent and business filing service. We prepare and submit administrative filings on your instructions. We do not provide legal, tax, accounting, investment or financial advice, and nothing on this site is such advice.
What happens if a state cannot be filed automatically?
Some states do not permit automated filing, and some require steps no software can perform — newspaper publication, notarization, a mailed document. Those orders are routed to an Atlas specialist and filed by hand. Your order does not silently fail, and your portal shows which path it took.
